Barbara Roux Conservation Artist
Barbara Roux. As an artist dealing with issues of ecology, Barbara Roux is a hybrid. Barbara Roux's installation projects are influenced by Barbara Roux's conservation projects to protect habitats and record incidents in natural history. Barbara Roux's conservation efforts stem from Barbara Roux's respect and fascination for the natural world. The work Barbara Roux does is inspired by the many years Barbara Roux has spent in wilderness places as well as Barbara Roux's study of topics in natural history and contemporary art. Barbara Roux's father was a pharmacologist who did research for many years with plants and animals in the Amazon Delta of Brazil. Barbara Roux's father's work had a great impact on Barbara Roux. It is Barbara Roux's belief that the environment of the forest, meadow, seashore and wetland are a powerful and little appreciated resource to understanding our human world. Like all structured communities, the wilderness is in a search for survival. It is Barbara Roux's hope, that through Barbara Roux's work, people may become interested in the mysteries that are inherent in wild places. From interest, a desire to protect may follow.
